Bill Besse

Bill was born in Kamloops B.C. and raised in the Merritt area in a non-musical family. He stuttered very badly but discovered he could sing and not stutter. His Grandfather got him a used guitar but he didn't play much until his older sister met and married a fellow that played music. His guitar is named "Pete" in honour of him and it was his guitar.

He played in a band in the Merritt/ Princeton area until he became a heavy equipment operator in many mines around B.C. Bill and his wife also owned and operated three restaurants for 15 years.

Bill and Celia were married in 1967 and have two children , four Grandchildren and two Great grandsons. He didn't play any music due to business demands for many years . He started music again in the 90's and played for about 10 years then left again due to business demands . He retired 2 years ago and has the time now to return to his love of classic country music .

His greatest influences are Ray Price, Merle Haggard , Gene Watson and Marty Robbins.
