Talent, commitment, sacrifice, and attitude are four words that Kelowna, British Columbia based artist, Ben Klick, lives by. Klick has established himself as a guitar slinging, unique and interactive country music musician.
In recent years, finishing the recording of and releasing a debut EP back in May, 2014, his songs have been added to the Emerging Artist categories of local radio stations around the Okanagan. Ben shares, "I write about what is true to me, friends, and family. Without them, I wouldn't be where I am today. I'm extremely thankful and very blessed to have people in my life who believe in me, and are behind my every move each step of the way."
Klick has been to and plans to revisit various country music capitals of the world, the most famous being Music City, Nashville, Tennessee. Performing at the well known Tootsies Orchid Lounge, Commodore Grill, and playing guitar on the Ryman Auditorium stage, the passion and dedication is only becoming stronger. Ben has attended the British Columbia Country Music Awards (BCCMA's), the Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA's), received a 2013 Civic and Community Award Nomination, and a 2014 Okanagan Arts Award. This British Columbia, Canadian born artist has a strong work ethic and drive to be a force in the Country Music Scene.
When Ben is not writing and performing, his spare time is used learning about the industry, and taking college courses to help guide him along his path. Ben's love for music and guitars has driven him to learn about producing and recording, as well as building the six string instruments by constructing three guitars and a ukulele in recent years. "Playing guitar has always been my passion from a young age," explains Klick "and it allows me to express myself. When I build guitars, I get to put my own creativity into the construction of them, which contributes to my sound and how I play"
"In my line of work I listen to hundreds of songs per week, so believe me when I say it takes a lot to stop me in my tracks. Ben Klick did just that. Ben possesses a talent for guitar that would be wowing at any age. The fact that he is only 18 speaks volumes to his overall potential. There is no doubt in my mind that Ben Klick has the talent and the passion to take his music career anywhere he'd like it to go." - Roo Phelps, Morning Co-host and Music Director, Country 100.7 FM.
With country and folk at his roots, and a big place in his heart for music, Ben Klick is truly a "Guitar Pickin' Country Gentleman."
