Westbank OPRYLIVE Okanagan Country Music

Mikie Spillett

Bill Besse

I was born in Vancouver and raised on a 1000 acre ranch in the Cariboo on Crystal Lake. I was raised with cattle, horses, sheep, dogs, cats, and donkeys (and of course parents and a sibling) and learned to ride and break horses naturally. I sang for family and friends from the age of 5 years old and never stopped.

I sang near the water fall at the end of our ranch to hear myself echo and made up campfire songs and poems all my life. I was 1977 High School Rodeo Queen for 100 Mile House and was in Miss Cariboo in 1978.

I moved to the Okanagan in the late 1990s and fell in love with the climate. After raising two children, I decided it was "MY" time and have never looked back. In 2004 I placed in the top five contestants in Starsearch and the Starsearch 2004 CD was in Walmart. I won Okanagan Idol in 2006 and am now in the process of touring BC.

My latest songs are "Boobs in the front, Payback's a Bitch, Toyboy, Cougar Crawl, Ain't No Granny, Dingo, In Gods Hands, Tingle, Monkey Wrench Blues and Cowgirl Up."

I love to perform for the guests on the Kettle Valley Steam Railway in Summerland as Saloon Girl Kate Kincaid and have many fans from the "Red Hats" who I proudly perform for, over lunches etc. I have been to the 2004 CCMA awards and met many country music entertainers and know "that is where I want to be." I feel I'm not getting older, but better! So gather up all your pals and head on down to the nearest saloon where I am performing and have yourself an entertaining night!
